Black Boxes everywhere!
I found some more evidence for my thesis (see last entry).

The speed of most processes (products, services, etc.) improves as well as their complexity. More and more we fail to understand the mechanisms within a system.

The percentage of things that we actually really understand has become extremely small in the last decades. In the 80ies teachers still tried to explain how computers work (the thing with 1 and 0). Today it's quite natural that we don't understand the things and devices we use (Handy, iPod).
What does this mean? - We're surrounded by black-boxes that we still fully integrate in our daily lives. There is a huge part of explanations that we just have to believe without catching the "how" or "why".
This brings along several implications (How do we psychologically deal with this omnipresent disorientation?) and it shifts the focus to how we explain: From now on pictures and emotions as well as reputation of the company (CSR) will even grow in importance: We will communicate the box, not the content.
